My Little Brother came to visit

My little Bro came to visit me and was here for a week. We had so much fun and I am sad the week is over and he had to return home. We took him shooting and he had a blast. He is even thinking about moving here which would be amazing. Right now he is in Mississippi and I am in Arizona. That is 1400 miles away. The kids had a blast and they love their Uncle so very much. They need family around them. Right now we live so far away from all our family that it gets pretty lonely at times not having any of them here. I am hopping that is he moves here that my Mom and Dad will be right behind him. That would be a dream come true. I did not get anything done last week cas we were just having way to much fun. I did not get any new items listed to my shop. I did not get any house cleaning done. I did not get the laundry done. But that is ok because we had a lot of fun. Now that he is gone home I am getting things back to normal around here. I got 5 new survival bracelets listed in my shop over at ArtFire. If you would like to pop over and check them out you can HERE. Also if you do not know what a survival bracelet is and how it can be used you can read all about it HERE. I wanted to leave you today with a view of my world here in Tucson, Arizona. I hope you enjoy it. :)

All photos were taken by me here in Tucson. I hope you enjoy them.

I Hate Spam!

I am not sure why but as of late I have been getting more and more spam to my blog. I for one hate spam! That is why I have a filter in place that all comments posted must be approved first before they will show on my blog. I am sure most blogs have started using this kind of monitoring. If not I am sure they will before long. I am not at all sure why people feel the need to spam blogs like they do. Do they really think I am going to post that crap? I hope they would figure out that I have not and will never approve a comment that is spam. Some try to get away with putting some generic I like your post check out these bla bla bla...... That does not work. I read every post made to my blog and I am not going to approve that crap.

I do love my readers and every comment that is left by my readers I greatly cherish and thank you for the time you took to post me a comment. Those comments will always be approved as soon as I see them. I may not post everyday but I do check my blog every day for comments and communication.

Until Next Time :)

Happy Easter

I wanted to tell everyone happy Easter. Today was a lot of fun. We started off the day with the kids getting their Easter baskets. They had so much fun with all their goodies. Then my Son got to try out his new compound bow with his Dad. Emily got to watch while she played with her new duck and books. Then it was time for the Easter egg hunt. Emily caught on right away. I showed her how to find one egg then she was off and running. She called them eggies! So adorable. Then my hubby had to go to work. We had a great day. I hope everyone had a wonderful day today and got to spend quality time with family. Now I would like to share a few pictures with you.

The Joys of Sleepless Nights

There are lots of people in this world that think there way is always the right way. But to be perfectly honest there is no right way of doing things. There is no right way to parent. Now do not get me wrong there are wrong ways. But I am not going to be talking about child abuse in this post. I want to talk about sleeping issues. No child is the same, every child is different. One way might work for one Mom and will not work for another. Like the issue of letting a child cry it out. Now that may be great for some it is NOT an all inclusive method. My hubby thinks cry it out is a good way to sleep train. I on the other hand feel differently. I do not like this method. I feel if my child wakes from sleep due to a night terror I will not let my baby think that she is all alone in the dark with her fears. I will go to her. I will cuddle her and tell her everything is ok. Yes I may be sleep deprived but she will always know I am there for her no matter what. I will be that Mom that has bags under her eyes if that is what it takes to reassure my baby girl that she is not alone in her times of need. Others may say I am teaching her not to sleep. That is ok. The Cry it Out method might work for some but not for me and my baby. My sweet girl will scream for hours and will not give up. She will make herself sick from crying and not give up. That tells me something is wrong and she needs me and I will be there for her. Some babies will cry for 10 to 20 minutes and then lay down and go to sleep others will not. It is ok to share what works for you but do not get offended if a Mother tells you thank you but that is not the right fit for them. Like I said just because it works for one child does not mean it will work for every child. Yes there are many nights where I am frustrated from lack of sleep. But I do think about this, there will come a time when she does not need me. There will come a time when she does not want to cuddle and for me I want to treasure every minute of this time when she needs and wants me to be with her.

Emily is 16 Months Old Now!

WOW! I can not believe Emily is already 16 months old! It feels like yesterday when I was in the hospital holding her for the first time. How times has flown by. She is so super smart. She has a massive vocabulary and she knows over 40 words. She even knows what all her words mean. She knows her body parts and she is such a happy baby. She dances, sings and spins in her little dresses. My little one even picks out her own clothing and dresses her self. Here are some pictures of my baby girl and her proud big brother.

I love my babies :) I got a new camera right before Emily turned 1 and I am really loving it. I got a Nikon Cool Pix S8200. The photo quality is amazing. I get such vivid color in my pictures now. For all those out there still struggling with infertility there is hope. My baby girl is proof of that.

I love you my special girl!!!!

Can you Boost Fertility with the Foods you Eat?

For some people getting pregnant is quick and easy. But for others it is NOT quick and easy. For lots of us infertility is hard to track down the whys of it all. We go to doctors but they never can seem to nail down exactly the cause. Leaving most women with the diagnosis of unexplained infertility. Fertility treatments can help but there are other things we can do to boost our fertility. The key to success is knowing when to try and knowing when it is time to see a fertility specialist. Even if you are not expecting fertility problems there are things you can do to give your fertility a BOOST! Just keep in mind that the American Society for Reproductive Medicine says if you don't get pregnant after 12 months of regular unprotected intercourse -- or six months if you are a woman over 35 -- it's time to seek help from a fertility specialist.

Among the most common causes of unexplained infertility in women is problems with ovulation or ovulation dysfunction. Though there may be many factors that are causing your infertility, many doctors now believe your diet is one of the keys.In a study of some 17,000 women conducted by the Harvard School of Public Health, researchers were able to define a group of "fertility foods" able to improve conception odds.

So what are some good foods? Well for one we need to be eating more monounsaturated fats (like olive oil) and less trans fats (like the kind found in many fast foods). They say we need to increasing our intake of vegetable protein things like soy, with that we need to reduce (eat less) animal protein, you know read meat. We need to be eating more high fiber and low-glycemic foods like whole grains, vegetables, and even some fruits. Did you get your fruits and veggies today? They also say we are to stop eating so much high fat dairy products. You know foods like whole milk, ice cream and cheese. I know, I know We ALL scream for ICE CREAM! They do not say we can not have it we just need to be cutting WAY back on how much we eat it and how often. Also if you are trying to conceive you should be taking a prenatal vitamin now. They say to increase your Iron as well. As far as caffeine is concerned there is mixed opinions on this. Most say less than 8 ounces of coffee a day will not hurt you. So this means we can still have a cup of coffee in the morning, but it is best not to have two or three cups. But keep in mind most doctors will tell you to cut out caffeine all together. They say that caffeine constricts blood vessels, slowing blood flow to the uterus and potentially making it harder for an egg to grab hold. We want to make it easier not harder! My doctor told me to cut out ALL hi-fructose corn syrup from my diet! This one little thing is harder than most people think. That crap is in EVERYTHING! Now they will tell you that it is fine in moderation. Well I have a question for them. How much do they think is in moderation? It is in bread, ketchup, mayo, and much much more. It is even in juice. Anything and everything that once had sugar in to now has this hi-fructose corn syrup in it. My doctor said it was the worse thing I could put into my body besides drugs of course. Any time a doctor tells you something like that you sit back and listen. So to answer my question "Can you boost fertility with the foods you eat?" yes you can. We could all use a better diet in this day and age anyway. It is just a bonus that it will boost or fertility. By boosting our fertility we are boosting our chances of having that bundle of joy we dream about. Hope this helps someone out there out. :)

Fighting a Cold

Yesterday I woke up and I felt like death warmed over. Today is not much better. Why is it no mater what we do we still get sick? I am in the process of editing my entire artfire studio and now I can not breath and my eyes are burning. My baby girl wants me to play with her but I do not want to chance her catching whatever this cold crap is. Telling a 16 month old that Mommy can not play right now is heart breaking. Then my 12 year old will not leave me alone and wants to keep hugging me. I keep telling him to stay back that Mom is sick but it is doing no good. I have a feeling this time next week I am going to be nursing 2 sick kids. That is not going to be fun. I am just hopping they do not feel the way I do right now. What a way to spend the weekend!! I hope everyone else out there is feeling good and if you are sick right along with me I wish you a super fast recovery!!

Blogging on a Tablet PC

Today I am running a test to see how the Blogger app works on my Android Tablet. This is my very first post using this type of devise. If it works correctly it will make Blogging on the go so much easier. So far this is what I can see about this app: It was easy to install and open my blog, It is a very simple and clean screen, easy to use and works well with my blue tooth keyboard. Now I am going to see if I am able to place a picture in my posting as well:

During the adding of the pic it does not let you position the pic. I am not sure I like that at all. The true test is if this post ever sees the light of day. LOL Wish me luck. If it does I will keep the app but from what I have seen so far I am not thrilled with how it works. It does not have the options for posting that I use.
